Bezymianny volcano is located near Klyuchevskaya Sopka. The nearest settlements are Kozyrevsk and Klyuchi villages of the Ust-Kamchatka region located 40 kilometers away. Subsequent episodic but ongoing lava-dome growth, accompanied by intermittent explosive activity and pyroclastic flows, has largely filled the 1956 crater. Mount Bezymianny is an extremely active stratovolcano on the central part of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East. It began approximate at 7 pm (Moscow time) on Sunday, January 20.
