While disciplinary sanctions do not appear on a student’s transcript, the Office of the Dean of Students does maintain a record of and report certain disciplinary action upon inquiry from authorized third parties such as outside agencies, potential employers or educational institutions. Violations of the Code of Student Conduct do not appear on a transcript except in the cases of student suspension or dismissal for non-academic reasons. Having a significant disciplinary problem in your history doesn’t mean you’re out of the running as an applicant, but it does mean you’ll have some extra work to do in convincing colleges that you’re a mature and responsible applicant who will be a positive addition to their school. Beyond that, your best course of action may be to ride out the probation period with patience and good behavior. The grade received in the course will be reflected on the transcript.
