Yep, this being a Gillian Flynn adaptation, pretty much everyone in Dark Places is horrible, except for angelic, long-suffering Patty (Christina Hendricks), who sacrifices herself for the good of her children in the most extreme way possible. Her story serves as a frame of sorts, and as a result, it's told in first person. I finished this book yesterday and today I am still thinking about this book and what the characters have been though in their life.
